Standards The Tier III (0, 99982) reliability requirements were met for the internal and external life support systems design and construction. This implementation allows performing any preventive, emergency and repair works without stopping the equipment. The communication systems, power and cooling construction were carried out using the full redundancy scheme ´N + 1´ (where ´N´ is the necessary amount of equipment and engineering systems for the data center full performance).
Power Supply Control Two independent inputs from the two substation sections connected by a separate feeder for the "high pressure end" plus automatic incoming switchgear installed during the data center construction ensure the permanent power supply in case of accidents in urban networks (the chart provides 2nd class power supply). Each rack in standard operating mode consumes up to 4 kW power. Given the ever increasing servers and other equipment needs it is possible to provide up to 11 kW power per rack. For the 1st category consumers there is an automatic diesel-generator station FG Wilson with the 10 seconds startup time and a fuel reserve for a period of not less than 24 hours. The powerful battery fail safe power supply is used to transit to diesel - generator in order to ensure uninterrupted equipment operation, it has up to 4 hours of battery life that meets 1a client category. Thus, the power supply equipment is carried out by three independent mutually redundant power supplies (two input feeder substations with automatic feeders + diesel generator + rechargeable power sources). Clients are offered to connect their equipment with redundant power supplies, to two independent different power sources lines (category 2, 1, 1a), providing backup and the last mile equipment power link. Certain single power supply equipment can be provided for the ´point-of-use switch´ 220v AC devices directly to the rack with the client's equipment installation request. All sources and power systems are connected to the automated accidents notification system.
Conditioning To solve the cooling issue we use powerful high-tech Panasonic split systems. Cooling schedule is adjusted to maintain the temperature between the 20 and 26 C. The air conditioning system has N + 1 backup, designed to operate in temperature range from -40 to +40 ´ C and is adjusted to the average server rack heat up to 4 kW. The whole complex has a total cooling capacity of 55 kW with 12 kW backup. Temperature control is carried out automatically. The current information about the temperature (three monitoring zones) is transferred to the centralized control and monitoring system.
Firefighting The site is equipped with all necessary systems, gaseous fire suppression with inactive gas according to the all-Union State Standard + TIA-942 and fire alarm systems. All information about system events goes into the network management center and centralized fire protection control.
